Doom 3 will own your soul, not NFL 2K5
Second of all, we're on the eve of the biggest video game release in years:
DOOM 3. And if you think I'm not buying it, you're absolutely crazy. Doom 1/2 were probably the games that turned me into the video game addict that I am today. I remember I played those games almost every day in high school freshman year. I also got picked on a lot freshman year. I wonder if there's a correlation?
Anyway, this game has been 9 years in the making, and it'll probably be graphically and technically incredible. The people at id Software don't make crappy games, and along with Blizzard are the only two developers that I will automatically purchase. The only games that I am anticipating more are Half-Life 2 and Starcraft 2. Incidentally, their predecessors were two of the top 5 games of all time.
But the hardware requirements are ridiculous. I have a pretty up to date computer, and I have a feeling that my computer is going to be running this game and medium-low settings at a medium-low resolution. But regardless, you won't be hearing from me in the next week, and now you know the reason why. I'll have a review up, but it will probably be meaningless by the time it comes out.
So join me. Buy this game. Call in sick to work/school. Buy a new computer if you need to. Just play it.
